Dear Francesca,

Congratulations on your position with Glimmerglass Opera. I met you at HGO; I was David Gockley’s tall, frizzy-blonde-haired projects administrator from 1984-1988.

I was born and raised in Cobleskill, N.Y., about 45 minutes from Cooperstown (over the mountain). As my family has a house there, I generally visit every summer for a few weeks.

I envy your being there year round! Again, congratulations!

Just heard the show while driving home and at the end when they sang an excerpt from “Oh Shining Night” (I think that was the title), I sat at a stop light with my mouth open.
I think the lady in the car next to me saw me say “Oh…My…God…” as I looked at the radio. I’m sure she wondered what I was listening to and I wish I could have rolled down the window and said, “This is so so beautiful…”
Had I been at home, it would have been a “driveway moment”, for sure.
